Originally from the US, Lana has background in education, and worked as a clinical therapist for abused children, battered women, and adults and children with mental disabilities and drug addiction. Born and raised in the Czech Republic, Petr’s background in engineering is why our school building and playground has grown and developed into a welcoming and inviting environment where children have fun learning, feel safe, and create lasting friendships. Every year positive changes occur with Petr’s help and creativity.
Originally from the UK, Karl has a combined honours degree in History and English Literature, as well as a post graduate teaching certificate. Karl has been an important part of our school since 2012. His approach and dedication to teaching has given him a reputation reflected by the outstanding results students achieve. His love of writing and history leads to a wonderful mix of factual and creative expression. As academic director, he ensures our curriculum stays up to date and meets the necessary learning targets, as well as ensuring our school has a child-centered, critical thinking approach to learning.
Student and Teacher Support Coordinator
Originally from the US, Jennifer studied Elementary Education and Economics. Jennifer grew up in Hong Kong and Asia attending international school. As the Student and Teacher Support Coordinator, she supports students so that they can achieve their true ability and promotes differentiation around the school to ensure every child is catered for. By incorporating personal knowledge and experiences into her lessons, she creates a diverse learning environment that appeals to young learners.
CP Kindergarten Teacher
Originally from the US, Olivia has a degree in early childhood development. She has taught preschool to 4th grade in the US, Kuwait and the Czech Republic. Olivia joined Central Point in 2022 as the kindergarten teacher. She is passionate about teaching hands-on interactive lessons and making learning fun! Olivia believes in a compassionate approach which creates strong relationships and a productive learning environment.
CP Kindergarten Assistant
Originally from the Czech Republic, Kristina studied art before gaining a degree in education from Charles University. Kristina joined our school as a part-time teacher in 2012 before moving to New Zealand to teach at a preschool for three years. Kristina then returned to our school to join the Kindergarten team and teach art to our upper elementary students. Her students love her creative and calm approach to teaching. Kristina believes that a positive and energetic approach is the way to foster learning.
1st Grade Teacher
Originally from the US, Brandi is our first grade teacher. She has a degree in Elementary Education along with an endorsement for reading instruction. Her creative and fun teaching approach engages the students and creates a positive learning environment. Brandi’s philosophy is that every child can achieve when they are in the right space.
2nd Grade Teacher
Originally from Serbia, Jelena studied social education. She first came to Central Point in 2019 as a part-time support teacher and has worked her way to becoming our second grade teacher. Jelena creates a classroom learning environment that promotes a community feel which helps her students to gain study skills for the future. Jelena believes in taking a small group approach to cater to the needs of her students.
Originally from Spain, Maialen has a degree in Primary Education with a minor in Foreign Language Teaching. She joined our school as an intern in January 2022 for the third grade class. Maialen rejoined our team in September 2022 as a co-teacher in the lower elementary school. Maialen believes that a calm and empathetic approach helps build student’s confidence when they face new challenges and concepts.
3rd Grade Teacher
Originally from the US, Caroline has a Master’s degree in international education with a specialization in English as a Second Language. She joined our school in 2010 and began teaching in our preschool class before finding her place in our elementary school. Her love of music and books always ensures an active and vibrant classroom. Caroline believes in creating a space for children of all backgrounds to express themselves and explore the world. She wishes to instill a lifelong love of learning in her students.
4th Grade Teacher
Originally from Thailand, Ratchanee has a Master’s degree in special education. She has taught in elementary and high schools in Thailand, USA, and Czech Republic. Ratchanee joined our school in 2008 and quickly became an integral member of our elementary school team. Ratchanee teaches upper elementary grades where her structured approach is much appreciated. She believes in teaching children to respect each other and most importantly themselves.
5th Grade Teacher
Originally from the US, Sadie has a double degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. After teaching for two years in America, she decided to combine her passion of traveling abroad and teaching and moved to Prague to continue her career. She joined our school as our 5th grade teacher in 2022. Sadie believes every child deserves a caring, inspiring, and engaging atmosphere. She creates a classroom community in which her students grow emotionally, intellectually, and socially.
Originally from the Czech Republic, Jitrenka has a degree in elementary school education. She has taught in elementary schools around the Czech Republic before joining our school in 2015. Jitrenka teaches Czech for natives and Czech as a second language. Her hardwork and dedication helps our Czech students prepare for the Czech state exams. She has also published Czech textbooks for international students. Jitrenka believes in a methodological approach to teaching Czech where children have fun and learn the foundations at the same time.
Born and raised in the Czech Republic, Tereza studied lower primary education at Masaryk University, Brno. She has experience teaching bilingual children here, in the Czech Republic, and abroad in London and Madrid. Tereza joined our school in 2022 teaching Czech and Czech as a Foreign Language. She believes in tailoring learning to the individual needs of the child.
Originally from Commenchon, a small village in the north of France, Agathe gained her degrees in French and English Literature. She completed her teaching qualification in Oxford, where she taught French, Spanish and Latin in secondary schools. She moved to Prague in 2014 and has been teaching French, Spanish and Latin in international secondary schools. Agathe is our parent liaison, working closely with parents and school staff to ensure clear communication and strong community links. Agathe nurtures a growth mindset and strives to create an exciting learning environment where every child can reach their potential.
Taña, Lida, and Ruslana
Every person at our school plays an important role. However, without these three women, our school wouldn't run as smoothly as it does. They ensure our school remains clean and tidy throughout each day, and make sure all the children and staff have full tummies. We appreciate their hard work and contributions to our community.
